tangerine speedo

Summer is on it's way! Just about 1 week until school is over (until august. .).

My problem(s) with summer is:
1. Too freakin hot!!
2. I don't get 2 see my friends almost every day.
3. I get bored easy. hopfully i do get out of the house this year (work doesn't count).

I do like:
1. SWIMMING!! heck yes baby!
2. No homework. .woo-hoo, except for bordom! arg. .
3. Hang out with friends other than for school work. .but I don't get to see as many as often. .
~cry~ :'(
4. Target practice. . ya don't get to do as much in the winter. .unless you wanna freeze your @$$ off. . ; )

Ahh. . what's with the tangerine speedo, you ask? Well, what makes you think of summer more than an awesome, tangerine speedo. .and I think the song's purty dang funny/entertaining (in a weird lyrics sort 'o way), too!

PROM!!!

It was great. We had soo much fun! Well, I did anyway.

We went to the zoo for our day activity. The guys were so funny! Tyler was trying to start a fight with some of the animals, and he and Sterling were talking about wresting some of them. Those poor birds were so picked on.

We went to lunch and Tyler and Sterling each grabbed a big handful of ketchup packets. They didn't use that much, though. (My mom thinks that I should take the ketchup to school and give them to the boys. . I dunno, maybe?)

We went and got ready for the dance. I went to Kayla's house. It was almost time for the guys to be showing up, so we decided that if they came before we were done curling, we'd go upstairs. The doorbell rang. I booked it upstairs.

Jenny (Kayla's sister) came up and told us that they were there and that his (Tyler) tux wasn't all burgandy (it sounded like it was from what he said) just the bow tie and the vest. She also told us that their parents were there! EEEEK!! I was excited! FUN!!! (Jenny said that she would be nervous or scared, not excited.)

Finally we were finished (with some dancing around by me included). I went down first (Kayla didn't want to go down alone (she was done first) and she didn't want to go down first), and I tripped down the stupid stairs! Lucky for me Tyler was standing at the bottom of them! He caught me. Tyler said, "I told you someone was going to trip on that fourth step!" (to Sterling). Sterling told me that at least it was graceful. . . my foot even popped!

When we were taking pictures and after dinner waiting to go. . I was dancing around. It was so fun. They were telling me to save it for the dance. . :( Where's the fun in that?!?! They all thought it was funny I guess, they all laughed.

Kayla was so quiet. She didn't talk much, and she says that she can't dance, so she didn't do much of that either. I danced almost the whole time.

Most of the time we were at the dance we kept asking each other if we were having fun. The answer was always 'yes.' It was funny.

Tyler and I did the waltz, the swing, a few country line dances, and a bunch of slow dances. They played so many freakin' slow-dance type music! At least I had a date this time!! It wasn't so awkward. Just standing there, not wanting to ask anybody to dance, bored. . you know how that is. .! Not this time! :)

You've gotta love guys. They don't really care what everyone else thinks! They looked like they were having a blast.

Tyler told me that he didn't really like heights, so he'd stay away from the windows. The dance was on the fifth floor at the Rice Eccles Tower. There it's hard to stay away from the windows. They're huge (go from ceiling to the floor, on both sides, and no railings). We were by the sides anyway. Tyler just kept his back to the window most of the time.

I saw a lot of people that I know there. Only afew of them were seniors. It's kinda sad.

Tyler had told me that he couldn't imagine crying over that crown. I said that that's because he's not a girl.

Well, after the dance we went to Kayla's sister's house, and watched a movie and had dessert. We ate schmookies. . I think that's what they're called. They're cookie dough baked in a pan, then you put icecream on them. . then eat 'em! Yum. It was fun.

Well, if you can't tell. . .I had a blast!!!! I think the other 3 did, too. They said they did. . I hope so.

A Week Before Prom

I'm soo excited!! I get to go the Sr. Ball! Yay... I asked Tyler about a week or so ago. The dance is in a week... :D

Now Sterling has to tell Kayla [hopefully] YES! If he doesn't.. I'm not gonna be very happy with him.. grr..! >:(

It's been about a week since she asked. I wonder if he knows it's her?

I just asked Tyler to his face (Madi kinda messed things up...all well). It was kinda easier anyway. I got that out of the way.

Now we just needa figure out what to do for a day activity. Hmmm... We were thinking about going to Lagoon, but it'd probably be crowded. Maybe the zoo? We're not sure yet. Eh, we have a week to figure that out.

Last Saturday I went dress shopping. The first place we went wasn't open, so we went to the mall. That was rediculous. None of the stupid dresses fit me or if they did, they made me look weird. Like one was too tight around the tummy, so we got a size bigger. That was too big on top!! I'm not a freakin' MAN, dang-it! Another one made it look like I was slouching my shoulders forward weird. We went to another mall. They had almost NO dresses. We went to Kohl's and Sears...NOTHING! We went to Walmart to look at patterns... I didn't really want to sew my dress...the patterns we liked called for a lot of material. I was soooo stressed out! We went to Wendy's and I ate 2 burgers with the evil aluminum-cheese in about 5 minutes! (I'm not a big person that has food for a comfort, well, not all the time anyway! ;) )

We went dress shopping again on Wednesday. That was much more fruitful. We went to The Sample Room (in Sandy). The plus was that the dress looks good AND wasn't as much $$$ as the stupid ones at the mall!!

My dress is kinda burgandy-purple-ish. On the tag it said grape, but it doen't really look "grape." It's got a corset-like bodice. It laces up the back. That thing is a pain in the you-know-what (arms) to try to put on by yourself!!! I tryed to put it on so I could see what it would look like with a black shrug over it. The shape didn't turn out too great on top (I only laced up about three or four holes on each side.. doesn't make it look as good..). From what I could tell, it would look ok.

Kayla was going to get a dress that has the same pattern, but is a different color. For some reason she didn't go back and get it today.. and they only hold it for 48 hours.

The girl that was helping us out seemed like she was pretty excited for us. She was funny. We (Kayla & I) were goofing around, making fun of some of the dresses that weren't so cute. One had ruffly sleeves. I was like "OOh. Ruffles." Kayla grabbed it and said, "Ruffles." I was like, ". . have ridges!" The girl started laughing and told us that we crack her up.

She found us a lot of dresses that she liked and thought that we might. A bunch of them were cute. One was a light purple, two piece dress. I was trying to get one of the snaps undone (on the back of the bodice) and I --poor me-- broke a nail.. luckily it didn't get into the pink part. :)

This is gonna be SSOOOO FUN!
